Bettendorf High School is exploring volunteer and student interest in the potential addition of a Bass Fishing Club to the school”s extracurricular activities. Students would enjoy recreational fishing in the area and potentially compete in tournaments.
Moline High School currently has a Bass Fishing Club. Bettendorf would be the first high school in Iowa to sponsor a Bass Fishing Club.
Adults interested in potentially volunteering and students interested in participating in the club are encouraged to contact BHS Athletic Director Mark Brooks 563/332-4516, or Jeannine Crockett 563/355-8167.
If this catches on or is at some point sponsored by the IHSAA it could be a great day for the future of fishing in Iowa!

Im a student at Burlington High School we are working on starting a bass club also. Check out highschoolfishing.org and see what they have to offer and planned. We are planning to join their organization without funding from school. As of now they only have one big tournament but im sure they will expand. If we can more densely populate the bass clubs in Iowa im sure it will migrate here.
